Tips
Adding Your First Medication
Tap the "+" button on the Medications tab to add a new medication entry. You will be guided through entering the drug name, dosage form (tablet, capsule, liquid), strength, frequency, and start date. Optionally, you can add notes and attach a photo of the packaging.
Setting Up Reminders
MediAlly supports flexible reminder schedules. You can set one-time reminders, daily schedules, or custom intervals for each medication. Reminders use iOS Time-Sensitive Notifications to ensure they reach you even when Focus mode is active.
To configure reminders, navigate to the Medication detail view and tap "Add Reminder". Choose the time of day and the days of the week when you need to be notified. You can also set a snooze duration for follow-up alerts.
Medication Management
MediAlly provides a comprehensive medication management system. Organize your medications by categories, set refill reminders, and keep a complete history of all changes. Each medication entry supports rich metadata including dosage, frequency, prescribing doctor, and pharmacy.
Medication Records
The Records tab shows a week calendar with daily summaries of taken, missed, skipped, and pending records. Tap any day to jump to a specific date (up to 7 days ahead). Switch between Medication Record and Indicator Record views. Search and filter history by medication, status, and date range, or manually backfill missed records from past days.
Quick Input
When a reminder fires, tap Take, Skip, or Snooze directly from the notification. Snooze supports custom durations with a 5-minute step. If you miss a notification, MediAlly sends a second reminder 10 minutes later. A quick input view appears when you tap a notification, and you can manually backfill records from past days.
Adherence Tracking
Track your medication adherence with visual ring or tree views and detailed statistics. The Home screen provides daily, weekly, and monthly completion rates. Tap on a specific day to see which medications were taken, skipped, or missed.
Health Indicators
MediAlly includes a built-in health indicator system that lets you record four value types: numeric, scale, boolean, and composite. Track trends over 7, 30, or all days, and link indicators to specific medications. MediAlly does not integrate with Apple Health — all health indicator data stays within the app.
AI Medication Recognition
Use your device camera to photograph pill bottles and packaging. MediAlly's AI medication recognition automatically identifies drug names, dosages, and instructions, pre-filling the medication form so you only need to confirm the details.
iCloud Sync
MediAlly uses iCloud to sync your medication data across all your Apple devices. Sign in with the same Apple ID on each device, and your medications, reminders, and adherence history will stay in sync automatically.
Family Sharing
Share medication data with family members or caregivers through iCloud. Recipients can view your medication schedule and adherence history, making it easier for them to support your health journey.
Data & Privacy
Your health data is encrypted end-to-end. MediAlly stores all medication information in your personal iCloud container and never shares it with third parties. You can delete your data at any time from the Settings page.
Your medication data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced through your iCloud account. You can delete individual medication entries or all your data at any time from Settings. Diagnostic logs can be exported as a ".log" file for troubleshooting and shared via the system share sheet.
Themes
Choose from 29 themes grouped into 8 chapters. Pro themes show a lock badge and present a paywall when tapped if you are not subscribed. Your theme choice syncs across all your Apple devices via iCloud.
App Language
Choose from 11 user interface languages including English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Russian. Switch languages at runtime with instant effect. Widgets and Apple Watch refresh automatically when the language changes.
Privacy Mode
Privacy Mode hides medication names from notifications and widgets. Toggle it in Settings to immediately update all reminder, expiry, and stock notification wording. Widgets also hide drug names when Privacy Mode is on.
Adaptive Recommendations
MediAlly Pro can analyze your actual medication-taking times and suggest personalized reminder adjustments. When enabled, the home screen shows a banner with pending recommendations. Each recommendation can be accepted or rejected, and you can configure the confidence level and analysis window per frequency type.
Pro Features
MediAlly Pro unlocks five premium capabilities: AI medication recognition, multi-language medication translation cards, adaptive medication recommendations, premium app themes, and the ability to receive shared data from other users. Pro is available as a monthly, quarterly, or annual subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase through the App Store.
Travel Assistant
The Travel Assistant brings together your translated medication cards and timezone information in one place. See how many of your medications have been translated, view your current and recorded timezones side by side, and access the timezone migration flow when you cross time zones.
Widgets & Watch
Add MediAlly widgets to your Home Screen and Lock Screen for at-a-glance medication schedules and adherence rings. The Apple Watch companion app lets you log doses and view reminders directly from your wrist.
Timezone Support
Traveling across time zones? MediAlly automatically adjusts reminder times based on your device's current timezone. Your medication schedule remains accurate no matter where you are in the world.
Common Issues
If you are not receiving reminders, ensure that notifications are enabled for MediAlly in Settings > Notifications. Make sure "Allow Notifications" is toggled on and "Time-Sensitive Alerts" is selected.
If iCloud sync is not working, verify that you are signed into the same Apple ID on all devices and that iCloud Drive is enabled. Sync may take a few minutes after making changes.
