1. Acceptance of Terms
This agreement incorporates Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).
By downloading, installing, or using MediAlly ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MediAlly. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, posting a notice within the App. Your use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your data.
2. Description of Service
MediAlly is a personal medication management application designed to help users organize, track, and manage their medication schedules. The App provides the following core features:
- Medication Management — Create, edit, and organize personal medication records including dosage, frequency, and instructions. Track inventory and expiration dates.
- Smart Reminders — Receive customizable notifications for medication schedules, refill reminders, and expiration alerts with snooze and second-reminder support.
- Cloud Sync — Synchronize medication data across your Apple devices via iCloud (optional, can be enabled in Settings).
- Family Sharing — Share medication data with designated family members or caregivers through iCloud CloudKit sharing. Sharing is initiated only by you and can be revoked at any time.
- Health Indicators — Track custom health indicators within the App. This feature does not integrate with Apple HealthKit.
- AI Medication Identification — Photograph or upload medication packaging, and AI will identify the medication information. For FDA-approved medications, the App will further attempt to match against the FDA database for precise details (requires internet connection).
- Privacy Mode — Mask sensitive medication information on screen for privacy protection.
The App is intended for personal informational and organizational purposes only. Features and functionality may change with updates.
3. Data Storage & User Responsibilities
No account is required to use MediAlly. All data you enter is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure on-device storage. The App does not create or require user accounts.
Local Storage
Your medication data is stored locally on your device. Local storage is encrypted by iOS, iPadOS, and macOS using device-level encryption. If iCloud sync is disabled, your data remains only on your device.
iCloud Sync
When iCloud sync is enabled, your data is synced across your Apple devices using your iCloud account. This feature depends on your Apple ID. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID and devices.
User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and up-to-date medication information.
- Maintaining the security of your device and Apple ID credentials.
- Backing up your data regularly. MediAlly is not responsible for data loss due to device damage, loss, or failure.
- Notifying us immediately of any issues or concerns regarding the App.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. If you are under 18, you should use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
4. Subscription & In-App Purchases
MediAlly offers optional premium features ("Pro") through subscription plans available as in-app purchases. Pro features include AI medication identification, AI translation cards, adaptive medication recommendations, premium themes, and enhanced shared data receiving. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to the following:
Auto-Renewing Subscription
During your subscription period, you will have access to all MediAlly Pro features. MediAlly offers three subscription plans: monthly, quarterly, and annual. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase. In accordance with App Store auto-renewal rules, your subscription will automatically renew at the end of the current period (including any free trial), unless auto-renewal is disabled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You may cancel your subscription at any time by going to your device Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions and managing your subscription.
Free Trial
If a free trial is offered, you will not be charged during the trial period. At the end of the free trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and your Apple ID account will be charged, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the trial period. No refunds will be provided for any unused portion of a free trial.
Billing & Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless auto-renewal is disabled at least 24 hours before the current period expires. All payments are processed by Apple.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds will be provided for unused portions of a billing period. Refund requests are subject to Apple's refund policy.
Refund Policy
All purchases and subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store. Refund requests are subject to Apple's refund policy and must be submitted directly to Apple. MediAlly does not have the ability to process refunds for App Store purchases. For more information, please visit Apple's support page.
Price Changes
We may adjust subscription pricing from time to time. Price changes will be communicated in advance, and your continued subscription after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
5. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of all medication data, health indicators, and other content you enter into the App ("User Content"). However, by using the App, you grant MediAlly a limited license to store, process, and transmit your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
User Content is stored locally on your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, your content is synced through your iCloud account. If you use the Family Sharing feature, your shared data is transmitted only to the recipients you explicitly designate via CloudKit sharing.
You agree not to:
- Enter false, misleading, or fraudulent medication information.
- Use the App to store or transmit content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or its components.
6. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, interface, code, graphics, and documentation, is the exclusive property of MediAlly and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
The MediAlly name and logo are trademarks of MediAlly. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any elements of the App without prior written consent.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
MediAlly does not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
- The results obtained from the use of the App will be accurate or reliable.
- The quality of the App will meet your expectations.
The App is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or medication.
The App does not monitor drug interactions, side effects, or allergic reactions. The App does not provide warnings about medication contraindications. Users must consult their healthcare provider for such information.
Reminder notifications may fail due to device settings (such as Focus mode, Low Power mode, or notification restrictions), battery conditions, or iOS system limitations (including a 64-notification cap). Users should not rely solely on this App for managing critical medication schedules.
Expiry date and stock alerts are auxiliary features. Users should independently verify medication expiration and supply status. MediAlly is not responsible for any consequences arising from reliance on these alerts.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MediAlly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data, including medication records and health information, due to device damage, loss, failure, factory reset, or failure to back up your device.
- Any errors or omissions in medication reminders or notifications.
- Any actions taken or not taken based on information provided by the App.
- Failure to receive notifications due to device settings, Focus mode, Low Power mode, battery conditions, or iOS system limitations.
- iCloud service interruptions or sync failures beyond MediAlly's control.
In no event shall MediAlly's total liability exceed the amount paid by you for the App or its subscription features, if any, during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. MediAlly reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at its sole discretion, without prior notice, in the event of:
- Violation of these Terms.
- Conduct that MediAlly determines, in its sole discretion, is harmful to other users, MediAlly, or third parties.
- Discontinuation or modification of the App or its services.
Upon termination, your right to use the App will cease immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. For users in other jurisdictions, if local mandatory consumer protection laws apply, those laws shall take precedence to the extent required.
Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the use of the App shall be resolved in the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
